The Great Barrier Reef is located on coast in Queensland north of Brisbane where lots of things there are tropical such as plants. People think that the Reef is a under water walkway with all the rocks and coral making it look like a path. The Great Barrier Reef has crystal clear water with wild life swimming around in it such as turtles and reef sharks. The Coral has all different colours from blue to red to green; the sand is light brown with the water glimmering over it. When I went snorkelling I crept into the water it was very cold but as I swam it got warmer and warmer, the sand is very smooth with fish sitting on the bottom. I didn't want to touch the coral but I bumped into it and it hurt so much because it is so rough but in the end I was ok. When I got out of the water I heard people laughing and having a good time sitting on the jetty with the waves crashing under them. People interact well with this environment because you are perfectly safe with everything around you and there is plenty of food shops near by if you get a bit hungry, I know I sure did!
